The traditional Great Highland Bagpipes, an instrument with an historical significance, is played not only in Scotland, but in countries all over the world.Each year thousands gather in Glasgow for the World Pipe Band Championships One such band is the "Bagad Cap Caval Pipe Band" in Brittany, France where the GHB has been played for 60 years. Hervé Le floc'h, Pipe Major of the Bagad Cap Caval started using a Peterson four years years ago. The band have since become Grade 2 Champions in Glasgow and have subsequently been elevated to Grade 1 status.Also pictured is the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band, a native Scottish band regarded as one of the finest in the world, having won the coveted championship 12 times. Don Bradford, Pipe Major of the Strathclyde Police, uses a Peterson. On the other side of the globe, Scott Ruscoe, Pipe Major of leading US band, Prince Charles Pipe Band in California uses Peterson tuners to make the instruments sound their finest. The Great Highland Bagpipe (GHB) has a unique tempered scale which cannot be tuned correctly using ordinary electronic tuners.
